Find a family photo (electronic, hard or Xerox copies are okay) at home that relates in some way to one of those you researched to bring to class. Now write a well-organized, well-thought-out and complete response to the following questions concerning the photos.
- In examining your researched photos, what evidence suggest that life was normal for Jews before the Nazis?
Life was normal for Jews before the Nazi's came. The picture above looks makes the Jews seem like they were depressed, or they were deprived of their pride, which caused them to look like that. If not for the Nazi's, life for Jews before the Nazis was peaceful and cheerful.
- What did you find as you looked through your own family’s photos in relation to those that you had researched? Which one did you choose to share that relates and why?
Scrolling through the photos of my dad's iPhone, I realized what a great life I have. Compared to the pictures I researched, our pictures were more cheerful, joyous, and more exciting. My family was always smiling, with big, perfect smiles, smiles you could never forget. On the other hand, however, the Jewish looked as if depressed, confused, or deprived, as I said earlier. The picture I chose was of the time I first went paint balling with me cousin. You could see that the guy in the green hoodie looks kind of confused, or depressed. Maybe he wasn't having fun, or just tired. Like I said, my family pictures, and many family pictures were of them smiling. This was the closest picture I had for people looking confused. - In comparing these photos, how do they show the similarities between you, your family, or your community and those in the researched photos?
